Membership in the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce is open to all individuals, religious, civic and social organizations. Additionally, we extend membership opportunities to small businesses and corporations. In fact, we welcome anyone who is interested in economic prosperity and in the improvement of our quality of life in Minnesota. Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce membership is on an annual basis and is renewable each year on your membership anniversary date.
The MBCC serves as a clearinghouse for business information and opportunity, business advocate, referral and development resource. While the focus of the organization is on African American Community, our membership is open to all persons regardless of race, creed, origin, or political affiliation. The Chamber promotes its member’s products and services and it provides monthly business education and networking to keep you and your business in the public eye. The MBCC offers its members various programs and events, such as:
Annual Meeting – Features a local minority business owner as the keynote speaker and recognizes our Volunteers of the Year. The chamber annual report and new year strategy is presented. This meeting receives broad constituent base support and the business public is invited.
Scholars Golf Classic – Golf fundraising event benefiting student scholar programs which offer mentoring, internships, and scholarships. The Golf Classic tournament features 18 holes of golf, luncheon and recognition for team with the lowest score, longest putt, longest drive, and hole-in-one. Celebrity guest, hole sponsors, MBE/WBE and corporate sponsors are recognized. Lots of fun for a good cause!
UMOJA Annual Business Awards and Recognition Celebration - The chamber awards three (3) black-owned businesses for their demonstrated business excellence and commitment to the community, and honors its business advocate of the year, for its demonstrated commitment to supporting black owned businesses and economic development in the community of color.
Members receive Newsletter Updates, Facebook and Linked-In Connections, and Website Features and Advertisements.
The MBCC advocates on behalf of its members around issues like: access to capital, business taxes, insurance costs, and contracting disparities.
